Sloppy Joe

For the last several years I've been playing and studying old time acoustic blues music of the variety that reached its peak just before the onset of the electric guitar. I go by the stage name Sloppy Joe.

I Recommend...

Big Bill Broonzy is my favorite guitar player and blues singer of all time.

This is one of my favorite Big Bill records. Terrible Operation Blues alone is worth the price of admission

I learned to play some good songs from this lesson set.

Big Bill was the subject of a cool little art film

Blind Boy Fuller is another one I never get tired of listening to. His ragtime guitar and cool vocal style is awesome.

Robert Johnson is essential for any acoustic blues collection, considered by many to be the best blues guitar player ever partailly based on the legend of his selling his soul to become the best one as brought into the pop culture consciosness by the movie Crossroads.

A great exploration of the legend.

A good book to learn how to play in the style of Robert Johnson
