The first iteration of the WebParts implementation for mojoPortal is now in svn/branches2.1 and is visible on mojoPortal.com by logging in and clicking the MyPage link. You can choose from content available in the Catalog and add it to the page and drag and drop it in the 3 columns. I've blogged more detail here. Come and check it out and let me know what you think. The goal of the MyPage feature is to be something like My Yahoo or Google personalised pages.

I think we can do a lot more from here but we have a basic sarting point that works with MS SQL, MySQL, PostgreSQL, (I still have a little work left for SQLite)

Why don't you use NHibernate or DB4O for data persistence?

not sure what that has to do with this post but if you want my opinion on the OR Mapper approach you can find a discussion here

I think there are good reasons for using OR mappers in some situations but I think there are also some good reasons not to in other situations.

Nice Work Joe very nice,

Do you think Mono is ever going to catch up with web parts and all?  I sure hope they do I like the idea of running on Linux.

Thanks and Keep it up..

Absolutely, I'm counting on it, but we must be patient, its not a trivial task and 2.0 .NET hasn't been out that long.

Cheers,

Joe
